Maasai Mara Great Plains Conservancy, Amboseli National Park

The Maasai Mara is home to the greatest population of lions, leopards and cheetahs in Kenya.  We spent six days going out on game drives, first in the early morning and then again in mid-afternoon into the evening.  We also had the pleasure of visiting with some Maasai in their village boma, as well as participating in an early morning photo shoot of Maasai warriors. Amboseli National Park is primarily known for its concentration of elephants, with over 1600 in the greater Amboseli district and over 600 in the park. To spend time with all these remarkable creatures was a joy.
